Mangaluru, Jun 5: Praising the central government, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje on Tuesday, June 5 said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has given a corruption-free and blemish-free governance in the last four years.
Addressing media, Shobha said, "PM Modi has successfully completed four years of his tenure without facing any corruption charges. There is not even a single black mark against his administration. The UPA led government had pushed our country into corruption in every department. There was no respect for our Prime Minister in other countries during the tenure of UPA government. But, PM Modi changed the trend. He is treated with respect by countries all over the world.
"PM Modi is being welcomed by other countries. They admire his working process. Moreover, other nations consult him before taking any decision. India is in the forefront in its fight against Pakistan and to prove that it's a ‘terrorist nation’. We are assured of development by the NDA government which is filling the potholes created by UPA government. During the tenure of UPA government, the country’s economy and GDP was low. Since Modi took over the country, the economy and GDP has come back to normalcy.
"Prior to the elections, PM Modi had requested for votes on the promise of developing the country. When we look back at our last four years, we are on the verge of fulfilling all the promises we made.
"After demonetisation, illegal money has been traced, and black money and fake note circulation has been stopped. This also brought an end to drug mafia. BJP has taken big step towards development. Mahatma Gandhiji’s thought of keeping nation clean was implemented successfully under PM Modi, whereas the Congress was always into vote bank politics in the name of the Father of the Nation. Over 7 crore families have constructed toilets to make the country free from open defecation under Swacch Bharath Abhiyan. Under Ujwal Scheme, as many as 4 crore families have received provision of LPG. Under Ayushman Scheme, generic medical store was started to provide medicine at cheaper price. Villages have been electrified and electricity lines have been upgraded," she said.
When queried about Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji’s displeasure over four the years of Modi’s administration and cleaning of river Ganga, Shobha said, "Pejawar Swamiji is a pontiff and he lacks knowledge about Modi’s administration. We do not know on what basis he expressed displeasure over Modi’s administration. In the coming days, along with senior leaders, we will convince him about the country’s security, development, and respect in other nations. As far as Ganga cleaning is concerned, it is a long-term project and the central government has taken it up."
When asked about Congress and JD(S) issues over distribution of portfolio of energy ministry in the state government, Shobha said, "During the tenure of the last government the particular portfolio was maintained badly. There might be chances of irregularities in the energy department by the Congress. To hush up the irregularities done by the earlier minister, there might be a fight between Congress and JD(S). They are not worried about the problems of people, but are only fighting for portfolios. Even after two weeks of the announcement of results, the cabinet is still not formed. Ten days after results, they were doing resort politics, now they are doing politics in New Delhi."
BJP district secretary Brijesh Chowta, Kishore Rai, Sanjay Prabhu and others were present.
