Govt serious about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's security: Rajnath Singh

Jammu, Jun 9 (PTI): The government is serious about the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said, amid reports of an assassination plot by Maoists.

"We are always serious about the prime minister's security. The Maoists are fighting a losing battle. They are now active only in 10 districts in the country," he told a press conference here after a two-day tour of Jammu and Kashmir.

The police in Pune yesterday told a court that they had seized a "letter" from the Delhi residence of one of the five people arrested on Wednesday for having alleged "links" with the banned CPI (Maoist).

The purported letter allegedly mentioned of a plan to "assassinate" Modi in "another Rajiv Gandhi-type incident", the police told the court.

Singh said the Naxal violence will come to an end soon as their area of influence has come down from 135 districts in the country to 90 but they are very active in only 10 of these.

Asked about the possibility of extending the ongoing suspension of operations against the militants in Jammu and Kashmir beyond Eid, he said an appropriate decision will be taken after reviewing the ground situation and in consultation with all people concerned.

Maintaining that the Centre's stand since beginning was that New Delhi was willing to talk to everyone, Singh said, "Our neighbouring country Pakistan should prevent terror emanating from its soil."

The home minister also said the central government was ready to hold dialogue with all "right-minded" people if not "like-minded", a statement seen as an olive branch to the separatists.

This is the reason why Modi is loved by majority of the Indians.
None of the former Prime Ministers took courage to take the naxals, But Modi started with building a highway right through the red corridor and reduced the their presence to just 10 districts!

    1. All terrorism activities must be condemned and rooted out, whether it is life of PM, HM, CM or common man, elderly, Ladies or children!
    2. Today Maharashtra CM Fadnavis also claimed threat from Maoists! We have to ponder over why threats perceptions are increasing?
    3. Earlier threats were perceived mainly from ISIS, Jaish etc.
    4. What is the difference between killers of Gauri Lankesh, Kalburgi
    & Maoists killers, threateners?
    5. Our own stand, are there good terrorists and Bad terrorists? How are we dealing with both?
    6. Are we ignorantly nourishing home grown terrorist? Will our society be safe? Will our women, Children weaker sections be safe? Will there be civilization?

Yeah.. Yeah... Modi must have told you that there are still some countries left to visit so he want to be the PM again, doesn't want to die.

Its people like Indira Gandhi who continued to have her Sikh bodyguards despite knowing how much animosity they hold against her after pulling down Khalistan and Rajiv Gandhi who went among the crowd despite warning of similar warnings of threat to his life.

Here is Modi, who brings out one or the other made-up threat the moment his popularity dwindles. One threatwas Ishrat Jahaan because his PM aspirations were already in the pipeline.

Attitude shows their dedication to towards the nation.

Why the PM Modi needs security in India when he is all the time abroad. How come such security is not there while he travels abroad. Does he trust foreigners more than Indians. Ishrat Jahan and her friends were treated as terrorist and were killed in cold blooded murder for giving fake information they are out to kill Gujarat CM Modi. How many more innocents will be arrested or even encountered in the name of security. Anyway 2019 people have to think do we need such leaders who have no faith in Indians.
