Sullia: Gun-wielding suspected Naxals visit Hadikallu, forcibly take family's food

Sullia, Jun 16: Three suspected Naxals visited a family residing at Hadikallu during the late evening hours on Thursday June 14, and forced the family to part with the food they had prepared for themselves. Within a few minutes, they gulped down the food and went away.

Thomas A J (35), a native of Kerala, has been working as rubber tapper in the rubber plantation of Jayaram Hadikallu, son of Balakrishna from Hadikallu in Madappady villalge in the taluk for the last six months. He resides in a house having tin roof which is owned by Jayaram. On Thursday, Thomas explained, he and his family members had sat down for dinner at around 7.45 pm when a gang of suspected Naxals comprising three members, a lady approximately aged 23, a woman aged about 35, and a man aged about 45, directly entered his home.

They pointed guns at the family members, took out the food prepared for dinner, hurriedly consumed the same in standing position in about five minutes, and scampered away. He said that the younger woman had two pistols in her hands, the elder one had two more, while the man was armed with a pistol and a gun.

Puttur deputy superintendent of police, superintendent of police of Anti-Naxal Force along with his team, police circle inspector from the town, police sub-inspector of the police station here and other policemen visited the spot and made enquiries.

Having been alerted about the possibility of Naxals having become active in the region, Dakshina Kannada district police and Anti-Naxal Force have begun combing operation there.

    This will increase in coming days as the POLITICIANS are busy to count the numbers in Assembly and angry at portfolio or interested Ministry ! Indian Politicians are very rich and well settled and commoner problems will remain the same which either political party or the religion will solve.

    Efforts are extensifying to spread rumours of threats against naxals probably to gain political mileage by particulay party cannot be ruled.... Recently Modi was said to be on target of naxals which was later become totally a lie..
