Bengaluru, Jun 18: "Media is reporting rumours that Sri Rama Sene (SRS) is involved in the murder of Gauri Lankesh. However, our organization has no relation with the murder of Gauri," said Pramod Mutalik, chief of Sri Rama Sene.
He was speaking at a programme on 'Exposing anti-Hindu conspiracy by Leftists' organized by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti at Ramamadira temple in Rajajinagar in the city on Sunday, June 17.
He lashed out at the critics of Prime Minister Modi and said that the latter cannot be blamed for every incident that takes place in the state. "Two murders took place in Karnataka and two in Maharashtra in Congress rule. No one questioned Congress govt failure. Instead, they are asking why is PM Modi silent and not speaking on Gauri Lankesh's death. Is Modi responsible even if any dog dies in Karnataka?" he said.
The controversial statement invited flak from various quarters. Muthalik then attempted a clarificaion, saying that he did not compare Gauri's killing to a dog. "I asked how Modi was responsible for every incident that takes place in Karnataka," he said.
Speaking at the programme further, he said, "Media, in order to increase their TRP, is reporting that there is a relation between the murder of Gauri Lankesh and Sri Rama Sene. However, Anucheth, chief of SIT, which is investigating the case of Gauri has not given any statement saying that the Hindu organizations are involved in this killing.
"I will say that C M Ibrahim, who has told that Pramod Mutalik is the head office with respect to the Gauri murder case, is an ISI agent. He has to be inquired first. If C M Ibrahim talks nonsense, I will file a defamation case against him," Muthalik said.
"All progressive thinkers, including Prakash Rai, are the agents of the Congress party. During the regime of Congress, they used to grab money in the name of overseas tours. After Modi assumed office he has put an end to it. That is why they are all united and are venting their anger against Modi.
"SIT officials have arrested Abhi and Giri and have released them after conducting inquiry. I have faith in the police department. However, Congress party is misleading the police officials. Police said that Naveen had bullets with him, when he was arrested. When the police conducted inquiry of the person who supplied bullets to Naveen, he had agreed not once but thrice, that he has indeed supplied bullets to Naveen. Even after this confession, why the supplier of bullets is not arrested?" he questioned.
