Sullia, Jun 21: "Chief minister, Kumaraswamy, has already confirmed that his government's tenure will be one year. It is difficult to predict whether it will last for a year or not. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, had dreamed of ridding India of Congress. In Karnataka, Congressmen themselves are working to free the state of Congress," commented former deputy chief minister of Karnataka and veteran BJP leader, K S Eshwarappa.
He gave the example of Congress MLC, Lingappa, who had reportedly said that leaders have been selling Congress party, in support of his statement. He was speaking to media persons during his visit to temple town Subrahmanya on Wednesday June 20.
"Congress is mired in factionalism. Congress leaders have been openly indulging in ugly fights of the level which was never witnessed in the past. The people are wondering whether there is a government in Karnataka or not. Although a coalition government with the coming together of JD(S) and Congress has been forged here, it is a dissatisfied government. Such a government cannot last long. The lobbying for ministerial positions and internal fights for ministerial positions within Congress have become common knowledge. Therefore, there is no difficulty in predicting the downfall of this government soon," he stated.
Eshwarappa claimed that he is an ardent devotee of Lord Kukke Subrahmanya and that he had visited this temple several times in the past. "Even though I had a strong urge to visit this temple again, because of pressure of work, I was unable to do so since long. With the blessings of the god, I could come here today. I have prayed to the Lord to see that BJP government rises to power in the state at the earliest. I hope that the Lord will bless our party to form the next government and the current government will fall soon," he added.
Eshwarappa, who arrived at Subrahmanya in the company of daughter, Kanaka, and son-in-law, Nirmal, offered Tulabhara service by using rice, jaggery and tender coconuts. He said he also prayed for the BJP to return to power at the centre and Narendra Modi to become Prime Minister again in 2019.
