Bantwal, Jun 21: An unidentified person attempted to steal cash from the ATM of Syndicate Bank at Panemangaluru in the wee hours of Thursday June 21. However, he did not succeed in his attempt.
A complaint has been filed by the manager of Syndicate Bank, Panemangaluru branch in Bantwal police station.
The complaint states that on Thursday at around 4 am, he received a call from his acquaintance N Subbarao, who informed that the siren was ringing at the Syndicate Bank Panemangaluru ATM kiosk.
The manager who rushed to the spot found that the door of the ATM room was open and the door of the lower part of the ATM machine had been forced open.
The monitor of the ATM as well as a CCTV camera and siren in the room were found smashed.
The manager then reviewed the CCTV footage, and saw that an unidentified person had entered the ATM kiosk around 3.37 am and tried to break open the machine with a weapon.
However, he failed to break it open and left without taking any cash.
Bantwal city police have registered a case under section 457, 380 and 511 of the IPC.
