Mangaluru, Jun 22: A lodge at Pumpwell here was raided on Friday June 22 over alleged human trafficking. Six girls were rescued in the operation.
Hotel Annapoorna was raided on Friday morning for allegedly carrying out human trafficking and other illegal activities.
The raid was conducted by Mysuru-based Odanadi Samstha which fights against human trafficking, along with Kadri police.
The police and the Samstha team broke open the door of the lodge and rescued the girls, sources said.
Several sachets of condoms were found at the spot.
Official sources said that based on prior information tha children were being brought from Bangladesh illegally, the Odinadi Samtha raided the lodge with the help of the police.
However, after raiding the lodge, it came to light that no human trafficking was involved, but that prostitution racket was being run there. The girls were being used for the racket were rescued.
