Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Jun 24: On the allegation of collecting donations in the name of St Mary's Nursery School, Bela, which is being administered by Our Lady of Dolours Church, Bela, by issuing fake printed receipts to the donors, Badiyadka police have arrested a 16-year-old boy.

The police suspect that there might a large scale gang operating in such a fashion. Therefore, they have intensified investigation.

When the boy was in the course of collecting money from merchants at Seethangoli, some merchants developed suspicion and got in contact with Bela church. The church officials immediately visited the spot, found out that the receipts being issued were fake, and thereafter complained to the police. The police then went to the spot and arrested the minor.

Priest of the church Fr John Vas, in a complaint filed with the police, has urged them to probe about the possible involvement of a large network of fraudsters in such acts and unearth the same.

The boy needs counselling. If he has been working with a gang, thorough investigation by The Police is called for and the gang members apprehended.

Perhaps the boy be sent a reformatory school.

No don't forgive.. take his minor misadventures and throw him into a jail which is now like a university for the big fish of crime so that when he comes out he is ready to pull off a big one and he needs training on how not to get caught. Anyway.. this guy has a good future as a professional politician.

Mr. D'Souza, Mangalore - Forgiveness comes from God provided the person who commited the mistake, acknowledges 4 it and repay the loss. Here the minor is involved, definitely a major person is involved in this act. Therfore, even if the priest the priest forgives blindly, the liabilty due to the concerned will remain open. The one who guided this minor should be punished.

Haneef (and Dsouza obviously), money is not new to Church, we the church-goers do contribute on each Sunday and that is accounted for. But, collected illegally outside the premises by giving the church's name is a crime. You both should not discuss matters that you are unable to differentiate between good and crime.

However, when such people use the collected funds for some terror activities and report the church to be funding for it upon investigating, I am sure you two guys will be chuckling while all remaining innocents suffer.

Dsouza, freedom of expression - I understand. Its all yours - fundamentally.

Please limit yourself to 'I, Me and Myself' and keep it within your territory. Do not flash your opinion on public domains when you don't want others to read/comment on what you have to say. Especially, not on an institution called 'Church' because that does not function as a shut entity, its a public place attended by the masses who believe it her.

Mr. Johan ??? No Christian makes an error in spelling a name that appears as an author of one of the Bibles.

And, Dsouza ? Without an apostrophe ??

    You have given sufficient clues.

Whatever that boy done is not at all acceptable.
instead of complaint make him understand his mistake . he is just 16 years full life is ahead for him. take him to consultancy .
there is no one in the world who never did any forgery or fraud in their life . instead of commenting and Pointing each other give some valid comments. Every one have their own thoughts and feeling on every issues.

Thomas Aquin ,Mangalore Dubai,of course they knew what they were doing.I am sure he was doing not by himself, some one had provided some reciepts and wanted he collects money .He was probably suppose to get some money for what he collected.Such things cant be forgiven but can be counselling ,he should understand such acts will be punished in future when he does in future. It is done in name of church,to defame name of priest religion.afterall money doesnt go to church, but others pocket.Tomorrow one may say church is collecting money but not listed .priest must have enjoyed with it.why other religion, self catholics may say,as in previous cases. Now should put a stop immediately. How a boy of 16years old can have all these recipts copy from himself?certainly not.that means some godfather was behind.Findout and punish them .

If the problem was so small, the church representative could have done it and finished it there and then. Who knows how many people have been set out with such receipt books ? Who knows for what purpose the money is being used ?

The Church is responsible for each Rupee that is collected in its name. If others collect it and use for unlawful purposes, there is a possibility tomorrow that the church will be accused for those activities.

Let the law take its own process/procedure, the church should stay away from anything related to it.
