Maoist gunned down in Chhattisgarh


Bijapur (Chhattisgarh), Jul 2 (IANS): A Maoist was killed in a gunfight with security personnel in this Chhattisgarh district on Monday, police said.

An INSAS rifle and a large number of items of daily use were recovered from the dead rebel, who is yet to be identified.

According to Bijapur's Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg, the gunfight broke out in the Indripal forest area when a patrol of the anti-Maoist force and District Reserve Group were undertaking a search operation in the area.
