Mangaluru, Jul 6: ABVP, the student wing of the BJP, on Friday held protest in front of DC's office condemning the budget presented by the state government.

The protesters alleged that the budget completely ignored the education sector. "There were lots of expectations from the state government. But the budget has neglected the poor, backward and talented students of the state. The state government has failed to provide free bus pass, upgrading the hostels meant for SC/ST students and filling of vacant teachers' posts," they said.

“This is a dull budget for teachers and the students,” said Deekshitha, a member of ABVP.

Meanwhile, tense situation prevailed when some of the students jumped off the barricades installed at the protest.

The students gheroed the police jeep in protest.

The police detained an ABVP member for not moving away from the protest area despite instructions from the police. They later released him and brought the situation under control.

Soon after violence broke out between members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and All India Students Association, a campaign #StudentsagainstABVP has gone viral. The campaign appears to have been started by Lady Shri Ram College student Gurmehar Kaur, who is the daughter of an Army captain killed during the Kargil war.

Kargil Martyr's Daughter Gets Alleged Rape Threat From ABVP . Now they are on protest against state budget.
In BJP ruled Jharkhand ABVP leader using his coaching center leaks CBSE papers jeopardizing the 10 lakh students future.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists are also arrest in connection with the Malegaon and Modasa blasts. The mobike to which the bomb was strapped was traced to Pragya Thakur, 38. Originally from Bhind in Madhya Pradesh and settled in Surat, Pragya is a former leader of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the BJP's student wing.

This RSS student wing is not only anti nationals but also danger to the future campus of India.

If Martyr daughter is being threatened with 'rape', this new generation of girls sitting in protest deserve to the part of the campaign or intentionally ignorant?

This student wing protest is nothing but early preparation of BJP for 2019 elections, concentrating new first time voters using communal hatred.

After the protest do you think these students would go to class. What is the ABVP doing ? Have they protested when there are no proper bus stands outside schools/ colleges? Some places had the but stands but removed of late and what was the ABVP doing?
ABVP only promoting rowdyism in the coastal city of Mangalore. Have the ABVP done anything good for the city of Mangalore? When the people of the city are not happy with the city buses have the ABVP protested for this purpose the students have a difficult task travelling by the city buses has the ABVP done anything.

There is a hierarchy in redressing issues. Every leader knows that.
If the issue is with government then file an rti, fir or complaint with local Mla.
, police, court, lok pal, adalat.............
If organizations leaders do not have potency to talk to other leaders and resolve issues then leave that group. Groupism =unionism= communism
Those want to take matters into their own hands prove their leadership is not listening to them. Leave that group.
They instigating students is same as naxalism. Such organizations in the past instigate to kill politicians teachers and writers. Then leave that group immediately.
People and organisations disrupting other's s should be penalized.
Sensibilities and civilities are rare these days.
If there is an inkling of goondaism then leave that group too.

Students coming and squatting on streets protesting against budget ?
Very much unacceptable.Your aim must be focused on studies and studies only.
    This does not make sense.
That the budget too does not make sense and third rate is another matter.
There are ways to tackle it.Students especially the young ones should desist from
such activities.Your parents may be tense.Think about them.
One main cause of worry for you students is that you study hard become I.A.S.
I.P.S.and all that only to serve thugs and crooks who will be your political bosses.
    Agitate to change that !
Then only you and our country Will.win !

I wonder which school they are studying in.
How can they get participate in protests by quitting classes.
They are ruining their own future.
Last 1 week they are into protests, not attending classes.
How does their parents encourage them in such acts.

Isn't it surprising to see smiling students while in a protest? The question that comes to the mind is - how are these students aware of budgetary allocations by sector? The need may be genuine but one can clearly sense a political objective behind this protest using innocent students.

Right time to demand for a seperate Tulunadu state. The state budget is meant for only 4 districts, rest all the districts are neglected &are in jeopardy.

Children, your job is to attend classes and not 'Dharnas', your priority is to study well, become a well educated good citizen and build the nation. What a dirty work of BJP spoiling these children!
