‘Always cross-check information': Zakir Naik slams Indian media for spreading ‘fake’ news

New Delhi, Jul 7 (NIE): Controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, who is under the scanner of probe agencies for allegedly fuelling hatred through speeches, has slammed the Indian media for ‘publishing and broadcasting false news’ against him.

Naik, who is currently staying in Malaysia as a permanent resident, posted a video on Facebook on Friday in which he said, “I would like to thank television channels and newspapers for publishing false news against me. Two days ago, on July 4, 2018, most of the Indian newspapers and channels published and broadcasted that Dr Zakir Naik has been arrested in Malaysia and he is going to be deported the same day. With no doubt, it was proven to be fake news.”

“…. This is how they sensationalise the issue and make the viewer believe that it is a fact. Today, it has been proved that it (the news) was totally baseless and false. This is what Indian media has been doing against me for the last two years. On July 4, it was exactly two years since they started hounding me.”

While referring to a case in which a Bangladeshi local allegedly published a piece of ‘fake’ news against the Islamic preacher but later retracted its statements, Naik, who is the founder of the Islamic Research Foundation (IRF), said, “On July 1, 2016, there was a terrorist attack in Dhaka where more than 20 people were killed. One newspaper in Dhaka, it printed an article which said that one of the terrorists killed has been influenced by Dr Zakir Naik. The following day, all the other newspapers and channels started speaking against me. While the newspaper which first published the allegation retracted the information, the Indian media did not and kept hounding me for two years.”

“Why the Indian media is after me – whether for money, TRP or vote – I have no idea. Most of the articles published against me in the last two years were fake and out of context. Very soon, it will be proved that it had no basis and was false,” he added.

Citing the Quran, Naik said, “In the Quran, Allah says that whenever you get information, you pass it on for checking to another person. I request the viewers and readers to do the same.”

On Friday, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said Zakir Naik will not be deported to India. Addressing a press conference, Mohamad said Naik would not be sent back as long as he was not creating any problem in the country, reported news agency AFP.

Naik left India in 2016 for Malaysia where he was granted permanent residency. He is wanted in India for allegedly conducting terror-related activities and giving hate speeches.

“As long as he is not creating any problem, we will not deport him because he has been given permanent residency status,” Mahathir was quoted as saying by AFP. India, on the other hand, has made a formal request for the extradition of Naik. India’s Ministry of External Affairs said the country’s request is under ‘active consideration’.

When Zakir was banned in many countries around the world, he hired top notch lawyers to challenge those verdicts, but he lost each and every time and the ban stands as it was proven in a court of law that he is nothing else but trouble. Regret that his like minded supporters of terrorism will deny it, as always.

Though I supported the Congress in the past, it had been one of their failures to have arrested Zakir when he began steering up trouble. In one of his you tube videos (which is still there on line till yesterday) when answering questions on the Al Qayeda's attack on the WTC, he gives the thumps up stating "If he (bin Laden the terrorist mastermind) is fighting America then I am with him - Every Muslim should be a terrorist". This was enough proof getting it from the horses mouth, but the Congress government took no action against him, and over the years this has embolden him, and today we see these problems in our backyards.

The very fact Zakir is hiding like a rat in Malaysia speaks volumes for himself. His preaching has resulted in a law and order problem around the world, hence he has been on the run avoiding prosecution. Hence, I'm asking Zakir and his supporters the following questions:

    1. Would Muslims not protest, if they are facing attacks on account the preaching by non Muslims.
    2. Don't Non Muslims have the right to live in peace.
    3. Zakir can preach about Islam as much as he wants, but in each and every lecture why does he talk degradingly about other religions.
    4. Every religion has a soft under belly, and Islam has lot's of it. How would Muslims feel if others would wash their dirty linen in public.
    5. Always remember the golden rule to treat people the way you want to be treated. If you love the world, the world will love you. But when you hate the world, all you will get back is hate

Fake new threat in India is one of the biggest threat for internal security of this nation after terrorism. Last month alone seen nearly 28 lynching including Maharashtra and Assam Whatsapp circulated for 'child lifting'. In Karnataka there are two incident one resulted in death one had narrow escape.

In India top 7 Television Channels and newspapers are owned by the politicians. 2017 will go down as another year that saw a steady decline of trust and confidence in mainstream media. Here are the top 10 fake stories circulated by mainstream media in 2017. From lazy journalism failing to do basic fact-checking to agenda driven deliberate planted stories, you will find it all here.
    1. Republic TV: Jama Masjid in dark due to non-payment of electricity bills over four crores
    2. Aaj Tak: Fatwa in Saudi Arabia that men can eat their wives if hungry
    3. Times Now: Conversion rate card unearthed in Kerala
    4. Times of India: CPM cyber warriors troll Australian cricketer Tom Moody after Moody’s upgrades India’s ratings
    5. Zee News, ABP: Dawood Ibrahim’s assets worth 15,000 crores seized in UAE
    6. Republic TV, CNN News 18: Arundhati Roy’s statement

When Indians are made to believe chip in currency which can transmit from the depth of the earth crust without any accountability we can understand lows of our journalism. Fake news became norms and TV channel AAJ Tak bosses are bestowed with 'Padma Bhushan' is seriously questionable.
Islamic evangelist Zakir Naik's media trial by Sangh Parivar inclined TV Anchor Arnab Goswami on fake Bangladesh media is now open secret. From initial charges of terrorism to financial fraud is nothing but well planned conspiracy to stop the awareness of comparative religion.
Now another poisons mushroom grown on the wood is 'Republic Tv' whose investors BJP's Rajya Sabha member Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Our troll master Manipal alumni Mohandas Pai and Bollywood star Anupam Kher and so on..
This 'fake news' is the campaign strategy of the BJP.

Its a debate on International channels as well. So funny . Dear Mr.ZN- If it is Indian media which spread " falsehood " on his deportation , then you Zakir should go back to India to complain to the Indian government . Why see the Malaysian PM and justify? Why you dare not go back to India if it is only fake news " by the Indian media, and if you are not really a " wanted " fugitive of Indian government ?You should be brave enough to go back to India to clear your name rather than keep hiding in Malaysia .

ZN is slowly digging his grave in Malaysia . The CNN says that now Malayans too are not happy with this controversial figure residing in their midst and is a threat to their multicultural society. Moreover he has requested the Malaysian leadership to be involved in this 'fake news' fisaco. This move has not gone well with the gen public, they are requesting their premier ''not to meet this ZN and send him back to india''. So its just a matter of time where, we have to see where he will scoot.?

Well, I have attended many sessions of ZN's programs here in Riyadh and I did not find anything wrong. He is defending his religion and I am mine. Everybody has their own opinion again everyone whether it's positive or negative but the problem is with negative opinion when it turned to hatred.

In India, now a days it's become fashion where some north korean channels (govt boot licking channels) divert the real issue to non issues. I was watching Republic TV for the last 3 days, there is nothing debate but ZN, no one caring about economic, rape etc etc and they alway busy with following subject: ZN, Pakistan, J&K, JNU, Rahul Gandhi, Tuke Tuke gang, Azadi gang etc etc. Their main agenda is divert Govt failure to other issues. God bless my (our) INDIA.

As long as Dr.Naik preaches about Islam I don’t see any problem. But the issue is he degrades other religions (mainly Christianity and Hinduism)and calls them infidels. That is not right.

There are many people in India and all over the world who hate Zakir Naik.
The reason why they hate him is obvious.
In the era of uncontrolled social media and TRP of news channels, it is very easy to spread fake news against someone you hate, especially when you have the backing of ruling party.

ZN first approached Saudi for asylum. It was rejected. So he secretly fled to Malaysia and forgotten.

Now he is simply trying to be in news by making some statements here and there against India and its leadership. Its obvious that he is desperately hoping that the regime changes .
