Theft at Congress leader Chidambaram's Chennai house

Chennai, Jul 8 (IANS): Cash and jewellery worth around Rs 250,000 were reported stolen from former Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram's residence here, police said on Sunday.

According to police, the theft was noticed by Chidambaram's wife Nalini Chidambaram on Saturday night on her return to home when she noticed that one cupboard was open and cash and jewellery kept there missing.

Cash to the tune of about Rs 150,000, jewellery worth about Rs 100,000 and some silk sarees were stolen.

A police complaint was filed and on checking the closed circuit camera footage, two maids were seen entering the house. Police said the theft would have happened about 10 days ago when the Chidambarams were not in the city.

On confirming the involvement of their maids in the theft, the Chidambarams have made a request to withdraw the complaint.

Had he been in power, the thief would have become a millionaire overnight. Now, a CBI or ED raid is expected at any time on Aircel-Maxis or INS Media case and the the unlucky thief struck on the wrong time. Poor Guy....!

These maids are bought and used by BJP to check on Chidambaram's assets if any at home. It's not as easy to venture and target into politicians residences unless there is some vested interest. BJP is so desparate as they can not find any solid evidence against Chidambarams. So far all charges against them are far fetched and fabricated. Modi is highlighting it by quoting 'Bail Gadi'. Can Modi see his own people getting bail on heinous crimes and getting garlanded by his own ministers after coming out of jail. How Ironic!?!?!!.!?
