All 12 boys, coach evacuated from Thailand cave on Day 3 of rescue ops

Mae Sai, Jul 10(Reuters): All 12 boys and their soccer coach trapped for more than two weeks deep inside a flood Thai cave have been rescued, a Thai navy SEAL unit said on Tuesday, a successful end to a perilous mission that has gripped the world.

“The 12 Wild Boars and coach have emerged from the cave and they are safe,” the Thai navy SEAL unit said on its official Facebook page.

The “Wild Boars” soccer team and their coach got trapped on June 23 while exploring the cave complex in the northern province of Chiang Rai after soccer practice and a rainy season downpour flooded the tunnels.

British divers found the 13, hungry and huddled in darkness on a muddy bank in a partly flooded chamber several kilometres inside the complex, on Monday last week.

After pondering for days how to get the 13 out, a rescue operation was launched on Sunday when four of the boys were brought out, tethered to rescue divers.

Another four were rescued on Monday and the last four boys and the coach were brought out on Tuesday.

Celebrations will be tinged with sadness over the loss of a former Thai navy diver who died last Friday while on a re-supply mission inside the cave in support of the rescue.

Bravo..Bravo..Bravo..salute to all those involved in the rescue work. Cannot imagine this happening in Mera Bharath Mahaan.

Probably our rescue teams would have made an effort of this kind had some cow got entrapped in the cave

RIP to the diver who lost his life in the process. Praise The Lord.

Mission accomplished by these daring rescuers. They did a mind-blowing job which no one expected. They risked their lives and evacuated all the 12 boys and their coach safe and sound from the Thailand cave within three days. It was not an easy task but they did it. God bless them and give them strength.

What a wonderful and miraculous feat! The Navy Seals from all participating countries, especially those who brought the trapped boys and coach up from the flooded cave deserve a great honour for their selfless efforts. And the great hero is the one who sacrificed his life and should be suitably honoured by Thailand and the World.

It is a great rescue work will be written in world history. The Thai media relayed the news very gentle and excellent method unlike Indian media. If it would have happened India our politicians would have taken credit for the operational work and their supporters would taken morcha. Our politicians and media should learn from them for decently interpretation style of working

    Agree with u Af.

The way operation is carried out is simply awesome, if this case was in India, more than 100 jobless ppl will sit in different channels as guest and start debating &add some fuel to fire.

Thai govt kept media so much away that not even giving chance to speak to resucer or survivor also.. Appreciated..

Hope our media learns lesson from this..
