Mangaluru, Jul 12: "We should be consciously determined to conserve cows. Earth will turn into heaven if cows are kept happy," opined Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji of Ramachandrapura Math.

He was speaking at the 'Swarga Samvada - Gosampada Samarpane' programme, organised by the Kamaduga Trust of Shri Ramachandrapur Math at the Townhall in the city on Wednesday, July 11.

Continuing his address, Swamiji said, "A huge shelter for cows is built in the vicinity of Srirama Deva Bankuli Math, near Siddapur in Uttara Kannada district. The cows do not have the clutches of rope, window or compound wall. In the midst of picturesque natural beauty, Nandi Shale, Balavatsa Shale, Dhenu for milking cows, Pratiksha Shale, Vatsa Shale, Childbirth Shale, which is the first-of-its-kind in the history of cow farming, Karuna Bharana, for old and weak cows, well-equipped veterinary clinic, laboratory for research and development, well-equipped Niramaya hospital for Panchagavya treatment, theatre for showing cow movies, cow museum and cow food facilities are available in this huge shelter.

"The life of cows is miserable not only at slaughterhouses, but homes too. We give those leftovers and rotten food to eat. The cows are treated worse than prisoners. Feed required for cows is not available in required quantity and quality. Cow farming is commercialized. Cows are being imprisoned by tying them with ropes. Rays of the sun are as essential for the cows as food and water. However, we tie them up. The life of cows has become pathetic due to relentless work, beating and abuses.

"Goswarga of Siddapur hopes that everyone who has seen the facility should get inspired to conserve cows. Let us all build the first 'Goswarga' together. Goswarga is not our personal right. It is dedicated for the whole society. All should serve 'Goswarga'. We are determined to build a well-equipped Goshala in the district of Dakshina Kannada, if vast land is given for the purpose," added Swamiji.

N Vinay Hegde, president of Nitte group of companies presided over the function. Sri Ramachandra Guruji of Uttarakashi Kapilashrama, Venkatesh, managing director of MRPL, Kuntaru Ravish Tantri, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, Meenakshi Shantigodu, president of zilla panchayat, Dr M N Rajendra Kumar, president of SCDCC bank, Raviraj Hegde, president of KMF, Prof M B Puranik, president of Karnataka state Goshale Okkuta, Harikrishna Punaroor, former president of Karnataka Sahitya Parishad, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president of Dakshina Kannada district Kannada Sahitya Parishad, eminent personalities like Dr Suresh Shetty Gurme, Santhosh Kumar Rai Bolyar, Roopa D Bangera, Eshwari Berkadavu, president of Havyaka Mahamandala, R S Hegde, president of Goswarga Sansthana Samiti and Dr Y V Krishnamuthi, visionary were present.

Karnataka Bank donated Rs 25 lac towards the 'Goswarga', while Hiranya Ganapathi Bhat donated Rs 10 lac for the same cause.

Padekallu Dr Vishnu Bhat did the introduction. Sabhapooje was conducted by Murali Hasantadka, vice-president of Go Parivar. The programme was compered by Krishna Neeramoole.
