M'lore: FMC Dept of Physiotherapy Celebrates Senior Citizens' Day

Mangalore, Oct 3: The final year students and the staff from the department of physiotherapy of the Father Muller Medical College celebrated Senior Citizens' Day on Thursday October 2.

The students, under the guidance of Santhosh A Kurian, department of physiotherapy lecturer, fulfilled their ambition of seeing a smile on the lips of numerous under-privileged aged people.  They organized various cultural items including a puppet show, dance, group songs and in addition, conducted games to entertain these people.  They also distributed eatables, clothes and various other basic necessities to the inmates of the old-age homes like Prashanth Nivas, Jeppu, St Anthony’s Poor Homes, Jeppu and Abhaya Ashraya, Kodialbail in the city.

Fr Denis D’Sa, college administrator, joined the students and the inmates of Prashanth Nivas and lifted their spirits by his encouraging words and a song. Narasimman S, course coordinator of physiotherapy and Sr Emma, superior and in-charge of Prashanth Nivas, were present on the occasion. The inmates of the homes also got an opportunity to entertain the visitors through their songs and dances, to a thunderous applause from the audience. It was indeed a memorable day for the senior citizens and the hospital staff and students.
