Opposition blinded by lust for power: Modi

Shahjahanpur, Jul 21 (IANS) : Flush with a decisive victory in the no-confidence vote in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday tore into the opposition parties, alleging that their leaders were "blinded by lust for power".

He said that when a dal (party) joins another dal (party) then it becomes dal-dal (swamp). "Where there is a lot of dal-dal, you can expect a blooming lotus (BJP's symbol)," he said while addressing a Kisan Kalyan rally in this northern district of Uttar Pradesh.

Without taking any names, Modi mocked at Congress President Rahul Gandhi for hugging him in the Lok Sabha on Friday, saying when "they cannot tell the reason of no-confidence, they hug him."

The Prime Minister said the Opposition brought the no-trust motion when the "nation was trusting him and his government".

"Their allegations and data are as weak as their conduct is," he said.

"One Prime Minister from Congress had said that of the one hundred rupees sent from Delhi, only 15 paise reached the people," Modi said, asking the crowd whether they knew which 'hand' it was that did the magic trick.

The Prime Minister said the no-confidence motion had exposed all parties "be it the cycle (Samajwadi Party's symbol) or elephant (BSP's symbol).

He also explained various schemes and policies of his government and informed the people as to how 18,000 villages have been electrified in the past four years of his regime.

He said his government would deliver on its promise to supply power to every household by 2019.

Opposition blinded by lust for power to safeguard the secular value of this nation and protect the constitutional rights to the citizens of India.
This opposition never rigged the EVM to win the elections, never used the bureaucracy for their benefit like BJP did so and never obstructed in the governance and never indulge in 'operation Kamala' to buy the opposition.

PM Modiji, Your party wanted to do 'Congress Mukth Bharath'. But today your party is full of opposition members.

If your party is so popular win the 2019 elections only on 'Development'. That means your speech will not have mudslinging others, religion, caste, Shamshan-Kabristan and so on.

Let's prove it opposition is wrong.

BJP and MODI is greedy!!! which is much worse than" lust"
lust originally means strong desire or emotion for something. Greed is the excessive desire to possess something..

Opposition blinded by lust of power? Might be true. But what about you? You are also no different. In fact, more worse in lust for power.

Then why you have not banned cow slaughtering in BJp ruled North East states and Goa whereas in speeches you shout Cow is you Maatha and say- "Mera dil rotha hai jab gaay ki hathya hothi hai". You also export tons of meat overseas.

What other than the lust for power you are maintaining double standards in the case of cow slaughter?

The interesting fact remains that the PM as usual has not replied to any of the allegations leveled by the opposition. Instead, he has resorted to his usual tactics of beating around the bush and blaming the congress. Wish he had addressed the pertinent issues raised by the opposition. Feku talking about Rahul's:hug and winks..

Such reactions by the PM betray his nervousness over the negative publicity that he has got all over the country and in the world. He should take critisism sportingly instead of going on the defensive in such a manner.

He is panaroid about the Congress because inspite of all his negative talk about the Congress, the country is increasingly leaning towards the Congress becoz performance matters. People disregard loose talk and falsehoods.
