Maneka Gandhi to states: Inspect childcare homes run by Missionaries of Charity

New Delhi, Jul 22 (NIE): Union Minister for Women and Child Development (WCD) Maneka Gandhi has directed states and union territories to inspect childcare homes run by Missionaries of Charity.

She also asked the states and UTs to identify all childcare institutions that could be potentially involved in illegal adoptions, which, the ministry says, is equivalent to child trafficking.

The order comes close on the heels of the Jharkhand case, where Missionaries of Charity staffers were allegedly found to have sold babies for adoption.

The instructions were issued this week at the National Conference for representatives from WCD departments of all states and union territories. At the conference, the Minister also asked states and UTs to link all registered childcare institutions to Specialized Adoption Agencies within a month. The orders are applicable on all such institutions, whether run by the government or NGOs. “As per the JJ Act, state governments have been asked to carry out an inspection of all childcare institutions especially those run by Missionaries of Charity,” a WCD official said.

You also talk like a feku. The DC in Jarkhaland already said, 280 children missing is falsely published by the media. it is only 4 or 5 children .which they traced and brought back to the ashram.

Mr. Nayak, do not vomit venom. These missionaries will still continue to do the work.

My dear friends don't get upset or angry. She is only asking to monitor the charitable organisations due to certain mismanagement in a certain place. Who ever is opposing this and criticising this, do you people agree that selling kids in the name of charity is right?

If justice denied, Missionaries of Charity should appeal against prevalent impractical adoption rules with human rights commission or highest court for justice!
Every enacted law should pass the test of delivering natural justice!!
If enacted adoption law itself is detrimental to the interest of the abandoned, orphaned etc. it's implies that, working for such noble cause itself is discouraged.
What is the preventive action taken by Govt abandoning of children, old etc? Is Govt taking care of them? What is this, I will not work for good cause nor let others do?
Giving the children to willing couples for adoption, makes space for the orphanages to take more such orphans.
If adopting parents donate for the cause of orphans, it helps them to support more!

These BJP thugs have no other job but to find speck in other's eye. They are not bothered about any poor and downtrodden people of the society. From ages the upper caste Hindus have ruined the life of lower caste Hindus in the society. They do not want to losen their grip even now.

Only in Tamilnadu due to the DMK movement the voice of the upper caste is silenced.

Rather than pointing fingers on somebody who is doing good, BJP and its supporters can open dharamshalas and take care of these children.

I sincerely request the Christian organizations to stop taking care of children, orphans and old age people and spend more money on Chirsitan community and live happily rather than becoming a matter of contention for these rightwing hooligans.

    Jai Human kind
