New Delhi, Jul 23 (TOI): BJP took potshots at Rahul Gandhi over the Congress Working Committee meeting on Sunday and said it was a “non working committee” meeting presided over by a “non-performing” party president. “It was a non-working committee meeting headed by a non-performing party president and the meeting took a two-line decision, which is equally horrific,” BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said.
He added that the two-line decision was that the “party will not win but will not let BJP win”, which, he said, was like a “suicide bomber” as its intention was clear that the party may be decimated but would not let BJP win.
Patra said Congress’s only agenda was to stop PM Modi’s return in 2019 and stall the agenda of development taken up by the NDA government.
BJP’s national media incharge Anil Baluni also took a swipe at Rahul as he said the Congress president might forcibly hug the PM but the people of the country would not embrace him in next year’s Lok Sabha polls. In a series of tweets, he also claimed that Congress had decided to contest only 150 seats in the Lok Sabha polls, while Rahul was dreaming of becoming PM.
