Mangalore: Diversion of City Traffic on Account of Dasara Procession

Mangalore, Oct 9: As thousands of people are expected to throng the city streets through which the Dasara procession of Kudroli Gokarnanath Temple will wind through, vehicular traffic has been re-organized as follows, as per a release of the district police.

1. All the vehicles going out of the city through Lalbagh have to take Hampankatta, Ambedkar Circle, Bunts Hostel, Mallikatte, Nantoor route and then reach national highway. No heavy vehicles (except KSRTC) can enter into the city through Kuntikan and Circuit House.

2. Buses coming in through Kottara should move on the national highway till Nantoor and move on Mallikatta, Bunts Hostel route. Service buses should move on the Horticulture office and Ambedkar Circle route.

3. Vehicles going towards Udupi from Car Street, Kudroli etc., should take the Azizuddin Road, Kandatpalli road on the backside of Kudrol temple, Urwa Market and Ashok Nagar Road. Vehicular movement on these roads from the opposite direction during this period, is banned.

4. Vehicular movement from all the inner roads that lead to the path of the procession and also on the opposite direction of the procession, have been banned.

 5. Vehicles may be parked at Urwa market and Mannagudde Cross Roads.

6. Buses moving on route No 15 and 27 should use the Cascia, Jeppu Market and Mulihithlu route, both for onward and return journeys.

7. Vehicles from the direction of Cascia and Monkey Stand towards the temple and bus movement from Mulihithlu side have been banned.

8. Vehicles coming from Cascia can move via Jeppu Market and Mulihithlu.

9. All vehicles coming from Monkey Stand should take the Yemmekeere-Bolar or Marnamikatte first bridge route.
