Bengaluru, Aug 5: BJP state president and opposition leader B S Yeddyurappa blamed the state government for rampant corruption prevailing in Karnataka.
He was addressing the BJP leaders after inaugurating city executive meet here on Saturday, August 5. "The coalition government in the state is busy playing politics with frequent transfers of officials. The development works have halted and there is no one to listen to people's issues," he said.
"I met those demanding separate state for north Karnataka. It was projected as if I have supported them. BJP supports for the unity of the state and will not divide it," he clarified.
He alleged that Deve Gowda has indirectly supported anti-nationals by joining hands with West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee with regards to illegal Bangaldeshi immigrants.
Yeddyurappa during the meet took corporators and MLAs to task. He asked them to work towards strengthening the party. He also warned of not giving tickets in the coming elections those who have only used the power to grow at personal level but not contributing for the party.
Union minister D V Sadananda Gowda speaking on the occasion said, "Earlier Siddaramaiah alone used to loot the state. Now two people are looting Karnataka."
Former deputy chief minister and BJP leader R Ashok on the occasion said that the BJP will fight against drug mafia which is spoiling the young minds in the state.
