Chant 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' on Independence Day else face action: Muslim board orders

Lucknow, Aug 13 (PTI): The Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board has made it mandatory to recite 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' slogan during the Independence Day programmes to be held on Waqf properties on August 15.

In an order issued on Saturday, Waqf board has also warned of "strict action" in case the directive is not complied with.

The Shia Waqf Board chairman, Waseem Rizvi told ANI, "Shia Waqf Board has issued an order that on August 15, it is necessary to raise slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' after the national anthem in the all programmes to be held on the properties of Waqf Board."

"Whoever does not follow this order, strict action will be taken against him," he added.

The country will celebrate India's 72nd Independence Day on August 15 with patriotic fervour, during which several programmes will be held across the nation.

    Can anyone assure that all of those who call these above as Maatha love them more than those who don't call them as Maatha?

    I don't call them Maatha But I am sure that I love them more than most of others.

    The mother fell sick and was bed ridden. She called their children and asked them to bring water. One of the children ran immediately to bring water and fed her; while the other was still saying with mother that I will do whatever you say and love you so much and blah blah blah...... So who loves the mother more? Latter or former?

    Who is Shia wakf board to issue order? What authority they have?

    This bhaktha has already cases against him. Now he is trying incessantly to please their masters.

    The controversial slogans ( Bharat Mata ki jay) has not been listed in the Constitution. Then on what grounds this buy can force people to chant this slogan and punish if not chanted! How can the refusal to chant a slogan be viewed as anti-national?
    While a lot of importance has been given to the refusal of Muslims to chant controversial slogans, little attention has been paid to questioning the authority of those making such a noise. Hardly anything has been said regarding the illegal nature of their behavior.
