JNU student leader Umar Khalid attacked in Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 13(PTI): JNU student leader Umar Khalid was allegedly shot at by an unidentified man at the Constitution Club in New Delhi on Monday but he escaped unhurt, police said.

Khalid was at the venue to attend an event titled 'Khauff Se Azaadi', organised by an organisation named 'United Against Hate'.

Later Khalid said, "There is an atmosphere of fear in the country, and anybody who speaks against the government is threatened."

    Airing anti-India views in the name of freedom of speech cannot be tolerated by Indians. Umar Khalid is an anti-national. He is the one who was shouting from the JNU campus “India go back”, Afzal Guru, until we achieve your aspirations, we will fight India”, “We will keep fighting India until we destroy India”. You b….rd, you are living in India, getting educated in reputed university like JNU, your education is paid by the government and you are biting the very hand that feeds you? Who can tolerate this type of anti-India comments and support to separatism? You are living in a great country where you have the freedom to air your views. You go to your “dreamland” Pakistan and see if you can do such things there.
