Mangaluru, Aug 24: In an unfortunate incident which happened in an apartment complex at Vas Lane in the city, a boy who was confined inside a lift lost his life.
The boy who died in this case has been identified as Muhammed Sinan (7), son of a couple from Addur, Bantwal.
Reports said that the lift of the apartment is old.
It is said that at around 7 pm on Thursday, Sinan's mother was preparing to go out with the three kids. When she was locking the door of the flat, Sinan suddenly entered the lift that was in the first floor. Within seconds since the boy entered the lift, the door of the lift got closed, and the lift moved down. The boy's head got stuck in the gap of the lift and he cried for help, it is learnt. Although the people forced the lift door open and brought the boy out, he had breathed his last by then, it is said.
Kadri police visited the spot and registered a case.
