Mangaluru: Father Muller Charitable Institutions gear-up to help Kodagu

Mangaluru, Aug 27: As a gesture of solidarity towards the flood ravaged victims of Kodagu, Father Muller Charitable Institutions will be organizing a five-day flood relief camp from August 27 to 31 in Kodagu district.

A team of 10 healthcare professionals and other volunteers will take off towards the surge hit areas of Kodagu. Furthermore, the team will be giving free restorative treatment and will dispense free therapeutic supplies at the heath camp. The team started for the mission on 27 August after being blessed by Fr Ajith B Menezes, administrator of Father Muller Medical College.



The institution had moreover sent two healthcare teams to the surge influenced regions of Kannur and Wayanad in Kerala where occupants afflicted with various communicable diseases were provided with essential medical treatment and given free medical supplies and various other relief items at six relief camps of Kannur and Wayanad.

Fr Ajith B Menezes, administrator of Father Muller Medical College, briefed about the Muller Care Project and congratulated and wished good luck to the doctors for their service mindedness.

Priests in the management, chaplains, heads of various units of FMCI, staff and students were present.

    We saw it when Kashmir earthquake happened, soldiers on either side crossed to border to help the people.
    We saw it when fisherman's went to other districts s to save people..

    Fr. Muller's Charitable Institution has all the infrastructure and expertise to handle all the emergency requirements towards any natural calamity that can occur in any part of India. Participating in any or all emergency needs within the nation and outside gives additional experience for all the staff to cope with the emergency situations and be of service to anyone in the nation.

    The only concern is the cost and the future precedence. Majority of the costs have to be absorbed somewhere either by the private sector and/or public sector. In foreign countries such emergency aid is highly tax deductible and renders incentives of all types for any private sector groups to come forward and help.

    The bottom line is to determine who bears the cost, and this is where the Government intervention becomes very essential and valuable. Training the young medical staff in various National Emergency measures can be very beneficial to the Nation in all the humanitary causes that can arise any time in any part of India.
