Bengaluru: Big Boss fame Chandan Shetty’s ‘ganja’ song in row after police issue summons

Bengaluru, Aug 27: The Bengaluru police who are red faced by Bog Boss fame Chandan Shetty's song on ganja have warned him of filing a case.

Rapper Chandan Shetty had rendered his voice to a song on ganja for a Kannada film titled 'Anthya'. The song was released in 2015 in which the police say that Shetty has encouraged consumption of ganja.

CCB Police assistant commissioner B S Mohan Kumar has issued a notice to Chandan and had directed him to explain in person during questioning.

'Dhammu bidabeda, ade namage beer yettodu halathagide, ganga yeleyodu hosatagide, bhangi yelakondu nagutha iru, shivanu hididare bhangiyanthe, navu hididare kambi anthe, bidabeda dhammu, nammaya palige ide whisky rammu’, are some of the lines of the song.

The city police who are doing strict on drug menace has issued summons to Shetty. If he fails to face the questioning there are chances of registering a case against him.

    It's too late to ban the song , already people heard the song and get bored of it bcoz it was released in 2015 . And it was just a song in a movie that is suitable for the screenplay. Consider it as art . Don't judge so quickly

    Movies and serials of nowadays fill an evil from childhood. It fills youngsters minds with 'whatever they do is right'. Love marriages, divorces are encouraged. However controlling this kind of Movies and serials is not possible because of lot of "Intellectuals" will oppose this saying that freedom is curbed.

    Songs are there about all the vices including Alcohol, prostitution, illegal relationship etc. why ganja is a problem...!!!???? If ganja is to be stopped then police has to work sincerely and not sending notice to the singer. If all the vices are promoted, police department has a big hand in it and nothing else.

    Naga sadhus are found openly consuming marijuana and roaming naked in kumbha mela. Why they exempted? Why alcohol, cigerettes gutka are sold ?
    Change the system first to bring changes in the society? What is the point filing case against the individuals when everything is available legally without marketing.

    Nowadays our movies & songs openly glorify every evil in society..including eve teasing, rape, drugs, drinks, gambling, prostitution...

    Regretfully, majority of the producers, actors & singers..etc are themselves experts in such vices!!
