Srinagar, Aug 28 (IANS): Militants attacked an Army vehicle on Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, police said.
At around 3.30 a.m., the militants detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) and then fired at the Casper (landmine proof armoured) vehicle of the 44 Rashtriya Rifles in Navpora village.
"Troops travelling in the vehicle effectively retaliated. No report of casualty has been received so far," the police said.
The IED resistant, ambush protected Casper vehicles, imported from South Africa, are being used by the Army in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
