Mumbai: Indian Rupee reaches record low of 19.20 against UAE Dirham

Daijiworld Media Network

Mumbai, Aug 29: The Indian Rupee weakened by 25 paise to 70.55 against the US dollar on Wednesday, August 29. This is the record low for Rupee.

The Rupee also traded at 19.20 against UAE Dirham, which is a record low.

Analysts said besides fresh demand of the US currency from importers, dollar's strength against some currencies overseas weighed on the Indian currency.

On Tuesday, the Rupee had bounced back in a tepid fashion from the record closing low against the US currency.

BSE Sensex reached the intraday high of 38,938.91ponits and closed at the highest ever figure of 38,896.63 on Tuesday, August 28.

Meanwhile, India's foreign exchange reserves fell by $33.2 million to $400.847 billion in the week to August 17 mainly due to fall in foreign currency assets, according to RBI data.

When you send your clothes to laundry for washing and ironing, you expect it back clean and neatly ironed. Laundry does it part and charges the customer for the same. But, if he sends back the clothes dirtied and torn further without any cleaning or ironing. You call that laundry as hopeless.

Modi led BJP during 2014, put out election banners all across India, promising they will get 1USD=INR44. Modi along with TV anchors used to call Dr. MMS almost an useless PM.
USD then was around 62 against rupee, crude oil price internationally was around USD120 per barrel.

Today, INR has touched its life time high of 70, also diesel and petrol prices too having its field run. Currently crude oil prices are around USD80 per barrel. Yes, you are told by these guys that all it is happening and happens in national interest. The only question is are these people who promote Modi have nationality like Mehul Chowksi?

Afternoon, if there we attend our friends' wedding too. we have a beer too and take a small nap in the afternoon. After office, we meet with our friends, have one or two pegs in a bar, go home, go out for a dinner.
You know what you and others do in gulf?

"Currency rates is not an appropriate benchmark to weigh the economy of a country.
As of now, Indian economy is doing well”
My intention to know how ordinary or common man is benefitted by way of income and expenditure. What relief they got when fuel and other prices go sky rocketing. I do not think that salary raise will take place to compensate living conditions. Also, the stock market index is not providing any benefits to low income earners. All your logic sounds good for a robust economy of a country.
But not in terms of ordinary persons cost of living because they are forced to spend more with limited earnings.

One person's wage per day was 200.00.
Now wage has gone up to 900.00 to 1000 per day. for Mestri, it is 1500.00 per day.
Road workers(tarring job) get Rs 900.00 per day.
A position where I was drawing a salary of Rs.20000 per month then, fetches Rs.85000.00 now.

there is proportionate increase in salaries too. This government is doing absolutely well.

The Indian government has said the economy is strong and no worry if Rupee touches 80 against Dollar it can withstand. The rate of 19.2 Rupee : Dihram is nothing. Our government is expecting it to be 21.54 Rupee :Dirham. So more gain less pain. So UAE is also paying less salaries and less jobs. We are happy only when oil price to reach $120/ barrel so that the UAE economy improves and there are more jobs for expats.
