Bengaluru: Kumaraswamy completes 100 days as chief minister

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Aug 30: In spite of occasional jitters about the longevity and stability of the state government, Karnataka chief minister (CM), H D Kumaraswamy, has completed 100 days in office.

The coalition government that was formed under peculiar circumstances with the sole aim of keeping BJP at bay has hit a century amid controversial statements made and disputes created by leaders of both the parties which formed the coalition government.

During this short period, there is no denying the fact that the CM tried to come closer to the people of the state by undertaking measures like farmer loan waiver, planting of paddy seedlings, steps to implement Israel technology in farming, Janata Darshan once a week, Arogya Karnataka scheme implementation etc.

Kumaraswamy also succeeded in winning over the confidence of the people by responding to the issue of providing relief to flood and landslide affected people of Kodagu district and quick steps towards reconstruction there. He stayed in the district for two days and lent an ear to the problems of the people, which also made the people to grow confident about his genuine concerns.

The government has continued several schemes of the previous government. In the matter of waiver of loans raised by farmers, he waived loans raised by them to the extent of nearly Rs 40,000 crore borrowed from cooperative and nationalized banks. He also has taken the initiative to waive outstanding liabilities in case of loans raised from private moneylenders and pawn brokers by way of an ordinance.

The coalition government did not face any major challenges during these hundred days. At the same time, there is a feeling that the administrative machinery did not work with the speed the CM expected of it.

During the early days, chief minister Kumaraswamy's statement on creating separate North Karnataka state had briefly snowballed into a major dispute. The proposal to restrict entry into the Vidhana Soudha also gave rise to dispute. The chief minister's temple visit spree too gained lot of unwanted publicity.

Though I'm sad that BJP could not form Govt in K'Nataka, at least am happy now that Kumaranna has completely outshone Siddu and providing better work compared to Congress.

Congress will now be relegated to 3rd position in State in next polls. Watch for this, it is self goal by them.

I feel sorry for Cong chelas who are rejoicing here, They have scored a self goal by supporting JDS and on a self destructive mode. HDK is getting stronger by the day and being appreciated by the people for his new measures. As they consolidate themselves soon they will emerge as a the strongest opposition. The nationwide call is now for a Non-cong opposition due to Pappus drubbing in almost every election he fought and thereby reducing Cong to only 2 states on its own.

Good , BJP should never be seen in South India, All BJP politicians are looting the country, they did not have time to visit kodagu.
As a person from Karnataka ,I am happy that Congress dumped BJP and gave Kumara swamy a chance to rule the state.
Yeddy just took false oath and within minutes he transferred sincere and efficient officers so that he can loot openly, BJP is run by criminals so never trust these goons.
