Udupi, Aug 31: The invitation of Vishwa Bunts’ Sammilana-2018' was released by president of the summit Aikala Harish Shetty at Ammanni Ramanna Auditorium on Thursday, August 30. The event is being organised by Federation of World Bunts' Association in association with Udupi District Bunts Sangha on Sunday, September 9 at Thonse Shashirekha Ananda Shetty Vedike, Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Auditorium here.
Addressing the gathering, Harish Shetty said, “We are receiving a very good response from Bunts’ association from all over the world. Earlier, we had decided to hold a district level get-together, but after seeing the response, we decided to hold a global level event,” He urged for support from all the Bunts' associations for the success of the mega event.
He further said, “We are expecting chief minister H D Kumaraswamy to participate in the event. Political leaders, film stars, and achievers too will join us. The association is expecting a large gathering and also guests from Mumbai. A seminar on the topic 'Worships and ritual practices in Bunts’ will be conducted by resource persons. There will be cultural programmes in the event.
“The event will be inaugurated by Justice Nitte Santhosh Hegde, former Judge of the Supreme Court. The stage inauguration will be done by Thonse Anand M Shetty, CMD, Organic Industries and Shashirekha Anand Shetty,” he informed.
“Sri Santhosh Guruji Barkur, Odiyur Guru Devananda Swamiji, Sri Rajshekharananda Swamiji Vajradevi Math and Sri Esha Vitaldas Swamiji of Kemaru Math will be part of the lamp lighting ceremony. The ‘Sammilan Dwara’ will be inaugurated by K D Shetty, CMD, Bhavani Shipping India Private Limited and CMD, V K Group of Companies.
“Aikala Harish Shetty, chairman, Federation of World Bunts' Associations, will preside over the programme. The chief guest would be Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi, president, Bunts' Yane Nadavara Mathr Sangha, Mangaluru,” he said.
“The association will felicitate senior most achievers from the Bunt community like B Jagannath Shetty, president, Bunts' Yane Nadavara Mathr Sangha, Byndoor, Vittal Hegde, Keerthi Hotel, Belagavi, B Annappa Hegde, Basrur, former MLA, A C Bhandary, president, Tulu Sahitya Academy, Narayan Shetty, Shimantoor, Dasanna Alva, Koolur Beedu, Kasargod, Prabhakar K Shetty, Kaup, Maina Subbanna Shetty, Hotel Twins, Thane, and Sarvotham N Shetty, UAE Bunts, “ he said.
