Bengaluru, Aug 31: A man who faked his identity as a woman on Facebook and later stalked and threatened a woman has been arrested by the Bengaluru police.

Chandan Kumar (27), a class 10 dropout befriended a 28-year-old homemaker residing in Srinagar in Bengaluru South. He opened the Facebook account using the name Chandana, and the homemaker thinking the account was of another woman chatted with Kumar.

A few days later Chandan asked the homemaker to give her whatsapp number and he shared his details. However, here the homemaker came to know that the number belonged to a man and hence blocked Chandan’s number and Facebook profile.

Chandan then started harassing the woman and threatened on misusing her photos and information and asked her to meet him and pay him money.

When the woman confided with her husband, he threatened to kill them both.

The couple then filed a complaint in Hanumanthanagar police station and the police have arrested Kumar.
