Mangaluru: Minister Khader slams DC over his absence at Janmashtami celebrations

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (SB)

Mangaluru, Sep 2: District in-charge minister U T Khader expressed his displeasure over the absence of deputy commissioner Sasikanth Senthil at Sri Krishna Jayanthi celebrations organised by district administration, Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat and department of Culture and Language at Town Hall on Sunday, September 2.

In his speech, the minister publically expressed his disapproval over the DC’s absence and said he will recommend the government to take action against him.

“This is a government programme and the DC should attend these types of programmes. The district administration is directly involved in arrangements of this programme. So I cannot understand why DC took the matter lightly. The government programmes are not just reserved for MLAs or MPs. I will write a letter to chief secretary to issue an order to all DCs and government officials to attend government programmes without fail. It is their duty and they should follow it. The programmes like Sri Krishna Jayanthi are helping to convey a message of harmony and peace in society. It is not only a feast for Hindus. It is a feast of our land and our soil,” he said.

Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath and other officials were present.

Religious celebration is for devotees and faithfuls. DC can take his own stand to attend or not. As far as possible it is better to adopt a policy of separation of State and Church (Religion). DC should not side with any religion. His religion is his personal choice. I support DC's decision.

Please don’t try to teach DC about rules and regulations. He is much more dignified and respectable than petty politicians. We all have seen his efforts and sincerity towards our district people.....,,

I fully agree with shriman Khaderji..., it is a clear case & reflection of intolerance by DC., towards Minister's graceful gesture & nobility towards the society who are practicing Hinduism & celebrate/participate in festivities...,

Everywhere now a days we could see few people practicing FEKU Hinduism....!!!!., Only REAL Hindu's can purge FEKU Hinduism & Save Hindustan....!!!!
