MCC, Qatar: Ladies Throwball Tournament Begins

Doha, Oct 23: The popular and exciting 7th Annual Ladies Open Throwball Tournament organized by the Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC)  kicked-off on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the Indian Club Grounds, Al Wakhra. A total of 7 teams, namely, Tulukoota (TK), Konkan Stars (KS), Lanka Lions (LL), Qatar Tamizhar Sangham (QTS), Indian Club (IC), Al Khor United (AKU) and the host team (MCC) are vying for the coveted MCC trophy this year. Konkan Stars are the reigning champions while the host team is the first runners up. League matches were held on October 16 and 17, 2008.






















The two semi-final matches between MCC vs TK and KS vs QTS will be played on Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 6.00 p.m. onwards. The match for the third place, which will start at 4:30 pm on Friday, October 24, 2008, will be followed by the Inauguration ceremony, the Finals match and Prize distribution ceremony. 


Gulf International Enterprises are the main sponsors of the Tournament. Gulf Incon, Qatar Kentz, Hotel Ramada Plaza, Mannai Air Travels & Holidays are the Co-sponsors and Jumbo Electronics, Canara Jewellers, Indian Club, Integral Services Co., Family Food Centre, Doha Petrol Centre, McDonalds, Nadec, Rayyan Water, Dandy, Goltens, Rasgas, Qatar Airways are the support sponsors.
