Mangaluru, Sep 4: Soon after the counting of votes for the urban local bodies in the state were held, the state government came out with reservation criteria for the posts of presidents and vice presidents of these bodies. The reservation details for the twin-districts are as follows:

The post of the president of Puttur city municipality has been reserved for female candidate from general category. The post of the vice president will go to woman from scheduled caste.

Woman candidate from backward class - A category will become the president of Ullal municipality. The post of the vice president will go to woman from backward class.

In Bantwal town municipality, the posts of president and vice president have been earmarked for general category woman candidate and backward class - A category respectively.

Mangaluru City Corporation

In Beltangady town panchayat, president will be from backward class - A, and vice president will be from general category. In Kotekar town panchayat, president will be a woman from scheduled tribe while the post of the vice president will be filled by a woman candidate from general category.

Mulky town panchayat president will be woman from backward class - A, and vice president will be from general category. Post of the president of Vittal town panchayat will go to candidate from schedule caste and that of vice president to backward class - category B.

President of Udupi municipality will be woman candidate from backward class - A, and vice president will be from scheduled caste. Kaup municipal president will be lady candidate from backward class - A, and that of the vice president, woman from general category.

President of Karkala municipality will be woman from general category, and vice president will be woman from general category.

President of Kundapur municipality will be woman candidate from general category, and vice president, a candidate from scheduled caste.

Reservation for the Mangaluru City Corporation has also been announced. The next mayor of the city will be from backward class A, and vice president will be a lady from general category.
