‘Karnataka civic poll results show people support BJP’ - Amit Shah

New Delhi, Sep 4(PTI): BJP president Amit Shah on Tuesday, September 4, thanked voters in Karnataka for their "continued support" for the party after results of the local body elections were announced and claimed that the outcome highlighted people's dissatisfaction against the "unholy alliance" between the Janata Dal (Secular) and the Congress.

Taking a dig at the alliance, he dubbed it opportunistic and said it would not come in the way of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharathiya Janata Party (BJP) working for the betterment of the state.

"I heartily thank our sisters and brothers of Karnataka for their trust and continued support for the BJP. I want to assure the people of Karnataka that this opportunistic alliance in state won't come in the way of PM @narendramodi and BJP working for the betterment of the state," Shah tweeted.

He termed his party's performance as "stupendous".

"Overwhelming support for BJP and decline in Congress & JDS seats reflects the dissatisfaction among people of Karnataka against this unholy alliance," he said.

    Even political anaylst become surprise when bjp performed well inspite of so much challenges from congress, JD's and others.
    According to there opinion in near future bjp is going to make a big leap in karnatka..by winning many seats leaving behind all.
    If genuis boy ( congress ) always score up above 95%..but now come down to 80% is an alarming signal.
    On other hand average boy ( bjp ) scored 75% than as always average 55%..is a good sign to achieve it's goal.
    A boy who scored just pass marks about 38.5% made chief minister of karnataka..a very strange thing.
    Now as it's gap become closer...in coming days chances are more for bjp to winning.
    Really well performed by bjp.

    I think you should use your expertise in some other venture like selling fish, because I think you are a zero while analyzing politics.

    Everybody knows that the BJP's main support base comes from urban India. That fact that the party which came first just a couple of moths ago in the state elections has now come second in its own bastions, must be sending jitters in the minds of the BJP leadership, in spite of your silly comments.
    It has come second even without a tie up between the ruling allies. Just imagine what would have happened to the BJP had the congress and JDS fought as one. BJP would have found itself in the Arabian sea.
