Bantwal, Sep 5: SDPI and PFI activists performed the last rites of a poor Hindu woman as per Hindu religious customs late night on Saturday last, as members of Hindu community did not volunteer to do it.

Susheelamma (65) from Siddakatte in the taluk had breathed her last. Although she has left behind two sons and two daughters, all of them are living in abject poverty.

Susheelamma, who used to live in a house at Kuchigudde, Addoor, was sick since sometime. After she underwent treatment at Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru, her health condition had improved and therefore, her sons had taken her to her residence on Saturday. She however fell sick again the same evening and died. The woman's family members reportedly informed local Hindus and relatives of Susheelamma about the woman's demise and sought their help to perform last rites.

Susheelamma had got one of her daughters married to a youth belonging to another religion. Therefore, it is gathered, neither her community members nor relatives came forward to extend help in performing the last rites. Therefore, the mortal remains were kept waiting till 9 pm in the house.

SDPI and PFI activists, who got the information, contacted some Hindu leaders requesting for help. As none of them came forward, it is said, the activists took the body by ambulance to Badakabail crematorium. They bought items worth Rs 6,000 for cremation and performed the final rites at 12.55 am the same night.

SDPI zonal president, A K Mustafa, PFI zonal president, Ashraf Nadugudde, zonal committee president, Zainuddin Pandel, Hakim Pandel, Jabbar Kuchigudde, Anwar Golipadpu, Nazeer Kelaginamane, Shafique Gudde, Sattar, Sauraz Imran and others joined hands in the above act.

This noble deed has come in for lavish praise, and many people hailed it is as an excellent example of communal harmony.

A very good job, which is pleasing to God has done by DPI and PFI activists to perform the last rites of a poor Hindu woman as per Hindu religious customs.

At the same time, there are so many instances too that youth from Hindu community, SS , VHP or Bajrang dal brothers have performed such good and noble jobs to Muslim community.

There is nothing above humanity. Let's not politicize this particular case and put other community down. Let all live together happily and with communal harmony. God bless all.

Deep appreciation and praise to SDPI and PFI activists. A friend in need is friend in deed. They have prooved themselves friends of the poor and the needy by this noble deed.
What is religion that punishes even in the deepest moments of pain and sorrow. It cannot be called a religion. for religion does not teach anyone to be in human. It teaches always to be humane.
God bless the humane act performed by SDPI and PFI activists.

If susheelamma's daughter not married to person from another community...did SDPI, PFI activists came forward to do last rites..??
Due to influence of ghar jamai taken that decision. May be family members not agreed there girl to marry to person from another community. If it is happened with another community...family members would have killed the boy..as.happened recently in delhi.
waqt waqt ki baat hai...no room to praise worthy. It's sabak to daughter and demise mother for there wrong-doing.

Mr expert thinker, you forgot or maybe you are not aware that few months ago SDPI and PFI members had performed another Hindu old ladies last rite by carrying her coffin on their shoulders, that time there was no Ghar Jamai (as per your way of saying) from the family.

Kindly try to appreciate goods things if any does rather than creating nuisance talk. If one can't help and do good act, then it's advisable to remain silent rather than doing Chugli (back biting) or giving false statement or making false assumptions.
