Congress attacks Modi government over tumbling rupee

New Delhi, Sep 6 (IANS): The Congress on Thursday attacked the Modi government after the rupee breached the 72 mark against the US dollar, saying government polices had derailed the economy.

"The falling rupee crosses Rs 72 against a dollar. Fiscal deficit will increase and price rise has caused panic," Congress spokesman Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted.

"Rupee is falling repeatedly due to the policies of the BJP. The economy is in doldrums," he said.
