Bollywood epic movie Jodhaa Akbar starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai has won the prestigious grand prix award at a film festival in Kazan, Russia.
Mumbai, Oct 25: At the Golden Minbar, the 4th International Muslim Film Festival, the Ashutosh Gowarikar directed film has shared the top prize with an Iranian film titled ‘M For Mother’.
Not just this, actor Hrithik Roshan has been adjudged the best male actor by the international jury for his portrayal of the character of Emperor Akbar in the film by Gowarikar, who also directed Lagaan Indian Oscar nominee for 2002.
The film is based on a sixteenth century story that revolves around the marriage alliance between the third Mughal Emperor Akbar and Hindu Rajput princess Jodhaa.
There were 34 entries from 24 nations in the festival held in Kazan, the capital of Russia's internal republic of Tatarstan on Volga.
