Mangalore: Muhurat for Beary Film 'Mami Marmal' in City

Mangalore, Oct 26: The Muhurat for the video movie, 'Mami Marmal' in Beary language, being produced by Sony Enterprises, was held in the city on Wednesday October 22.

The film muhurat was conducted as per both Hindu and Islamic traditions. Prashant Bhat and Adoor Ashraf Thangal initiated the shooting of the film by switching the camera on.

Speaking on the occasion, film director Rahim Uchil said, that the film will attempt to throw light on the social and family problems being faced by the Beary community.



Businessman B S Gangadhar is the producer of the film, while story, lyrics, dialogue and direction are handled by Rahim Uchil. Prakash Padubidri is the assistant director of the movie, while Rajesh Haleangady will be the cinamatographer. Music is being provided by Ravindra Prabhu.

The star cast of the movie are Vaibhavi (Faujiya), Rahim Uchil, Veena Mangalore, Roopashri Varkady, Riyana, K K Gatti, Ashok Bikernakatte, Ibrahim Thanneerbhavi, Riyaz, Sujnesh and Imtiyaz. Retired Police officer G A Bava will make a guest appearance.

The location for the film shoot will be Maripalla, Pilikula and also in and around the city. The duration of the film will be 150 minutes, and the budget is around five lac rupees.

Producer B S Gangadhar, assistant director Prakash Padubidri and production-in-charge Jeevan Prakash P were present at the press meet.

    i am really happy about the great efforts shown here by the Beary Community.and very proud that one of our fils "BEARY" got the national award.we will be now well recognised by the other states of India.inshallah keep going.and special thanks to all the hindu brothers who were involved we should also come up with tulu & konkani also which is more popular then beary.

    Wow!!Congratulations to the entire MAMI MARMAL Film team. Wonderful & great news. We must encourage these Production team with one voice for such cultural initiatives. We have talents as such we may expect lower budgeted Konkani & Tulu Films in the near future. Hats off.

    It's very heartening to see that the crew is comprised of Hindu and Muslims. Do you need any better proof of communal harmony in Mangalore or rather in India? I wish more such collaborations happen everywhere so that the dirty politicians get a strong message that Indians are "UNITED IN DIVERSITY"!!! God Bless.

    Congratulations to Mr.B.S. Gangadhar and Mr. Rahim Uchil for venturing to make a Beary Film. I hope this film will focus on the Beary's social problems like Dowry, educational backwardness etc. I request Mr.Rahim Uchil to please note that BEARED and TOPI are not mandatory for every Beary. I am not against it but Please note that Bearys are the most cosmopolitan not only in in thier outfits but also in the day to day life.Beary culture is so rich and diverse that it is much more than TOPI and BEARD.Thank you and we assure you every support in this initiative.     Best Wishes for the film in Beary Bhasha. It is nice to know that people are coming together to contribute to the vernacular languages. Hope to see similar efforts for Tulu and Konkani too.
