Ready to talk terrorism: Pak PM writes to Modi, seeks to start stalled dialogue

New Delhi, Sep 20 (DC): Newly-elected Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has reached out
to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi seeking to “re-start the stalled dialogue process” between the two neighbours.

In a letter written to PM Modi, Imran Khan emphasised that Pakistan is ready to discuss terrorism.

Khan also proposed an informal meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries at the sidelines of upcoming UN General Assembly in New York in the letter.

“I endorse your sentiment that the only way forward for our two countries lies in ‘constructive engagement’”, the letter read.

The Pakistan prime minister also said, “Pakistan and India have undeniably challenging relationship. We, however, owe it to our people, especially the future generations, to peacefully resolve all outstanding issues, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute to bridge differences and achieve a mutually beneficial outcome.

He further stated that Siachen and Sir Creek also need close attention to move towards resolution.

Imran Khan further emphasised on the need to discuss trade, people to people contacts, religious tourism, humanitarian issues.

Pakistan prime minister concluded his letter saying that he is looking forward to working with PM Modi for the benefit of the people of both the countries.

Mohammad Faisal, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, said that they will wait for a formal response from India.

POOR IMRAN, Just like helpless MODI Bhakth's, unfortunately, Imran Khan terribly misunderstood RSS govt's stand on INDIA-PAK issue. Nagpur administration never wished IND-PAK and RAM temple conflict to be solved. These are two mainline to play vote bank agenda's of RSS for decades. they won't let anyone destroy this beneficial issue. thus they will continue their British ancestor's strategy "DIVIDE AND RULE".

Modi had enough testing time to order some drastic measures against PAK but he neither talks in loud voice nor show any aggressiveness towards them. He would rather seek Americas and world countries help in declaring PAK as a terrorist country. We cannot expect other countries to come forward and fight for us. Modi knows only to give political speeches and in real times he is a cool guy.
When enemy country takes one step forward we should two steps ahead. That is not done and will not take place. Our defence minister is just for a talkative tongue.
Abusing PAK and wait for next terrorist action.

Imran and his govt will have to wait till June 2019 or beyond for such talks. If Modi chooses to talk now, he could loose core Hindu votes in May 2019. If any other party other than BJP comes to power. They might immediately accede to Imran Khans request , just to appease their minority vote bank.

    Agreed.
So what is the next option for India?
To retaliate ? or find a lasting solution.
Let it continue ? Tit for tat but how long ?
Are we not in a position or just tolerating ?

The PM and his key people are shrewd enough and don't need advice from anyone. However, Imran Khan is offering a dialogue because he needs massive financial help from US and IMF etc. Pakistan is bankrupt .

My Pak colleagues confirm that they and all overseas working Paks have received a letter from the pak Got thru the embassy , where each have been requested to contribute one thousand dollars to the country.

Imran wants to show to the world that a change is happening. But it in fact is not happening. Therefore, under the circumstances, PM might consider this request positively but should and in fact would negotiate from a position of immense strength.

The current PM is India's best bet in decades. If we all support him. He can and eventually would set all the enemies, both within and those without, right; sooner than later. Jai Hind.

You have Pak colleagues in Mangalore?
You are saying 'Imran wants to show the world that the change is happening, but in fact it's not happening'
How can you be sure of this? Imran being educated and having been around the world, might have truly realized that war/enmity are not the solutions. He could be truly holding out an olive branch. Wisdom lies in participating in a dialogue sans bias/prejudice and work out a solution which could be an uphill task but not impossible.

No talk, no dialogue, no peace... how long tolerate the terrorists attacking our Jawans and cross boarde firing.
Only option left is use of force i.e. war and crush the enemy and stop crying foul life long.
What cannot be endured needs to cured.
Those who disagree please suggest your ideas.

Mr. Modi had invited Nawaz Sharif for his PM swearing in ceremony. Consequently he went PAK (unofficial) meeting, shared biryani and gifts and exchanged sweet talks of friendship (hugging and a pat on the back) but everything abruptly came to an end. Even Vajpayee tried his best by running samjouta Express but short lived.
Now Imran Khan has taken the initiative and Mr. Modi should oblige to the request

Why are you so pacifistic and draw your own assumption in a negative way?
Most of the business activities and other developments runs on trust and good faith.
One who entertains negative attitude will never prosper. No harm in opening a dialogue and work out a strategy to resolve outstanding issues.
Even the rocket man obliged to find out a solution through negotiations and understanding.
If we are capable, we should use force i.e. making a war but that is out of question.
