Cut in petrol, diesel prices shows government's sensitiveness: Shah

Jaipur, Oct 4 (IANS): Hailing the government's decision to cut petrol and diesel prices by Rs 2.50 per litre, BJP President Amit Shah on Thursday said all the party-ruled states will give additional relief of Rs. 2.50 per litre by reducing VAT.

"The central government has taken another decision in interest of the people so that they can get relief. We welcome this decision and thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the people and BJP workers. By taking such a decision the Prime Minister has shown the sensitiveness of the government towards people," he told reporters.

In a relief to consumers hit hard by the unrelenting rise in fuel prices, the government decided to cut petrol and diesel prices by Rs 2.50 per litre that will result in a revenue loss of Rs.10,500 crore in six months.

The BJP President said that he had a telephonic conversation with the Chief Ministers of all the BJP ruled states and they will give additional relief of Rs 2.50 per litre to the people by reducing VAT.

"With this people will get the relief to the tune of Rs.5 per litre," he said.

Complete failure of gobar governance. Its high time that this government snub ego and consult Dr. Manmohan Singh before its too late for the sake of our Nation. All vague decisions has brought everything to almost stand still and the ruling party is still busy behind winning elections by hook or by crook..

This is a good example to show that Indians accept any BS....... from politicians.
When the prices were going up, very same BJP was washing its hands by saying that price control is not in their hand. It is for the petroleum companies and for state governments to decide. Centre does not have control or any say in deciding the prices.

Now suddenly this guy is trying to take credit. What shame for all citizens to be taken for granted that anything these politicians can utter and it will be accepted!!!!

"You can fool some people some times but not all the people all the time." Amit Shah should keep this in mind before trying to make such intemperate and atrocious comments. If this Government was so concerned about the poor people, they wouldn't have turned a deaf ear to the pleas of the masses for over four years, they wouldn't have brought in the ill advised demonetisation and they wouldn't have introduced the GST. Yes, this Government is sensitive but only towards the PM's Gujarati friends and not to the people of this country. Reducing the fuel prices now, when the elections are approaching is a very clear indication that the PM has realised that he can no longer fool the people of this country.

There is nothing about sensitivity but only "election drama" or mere eyewash.
When the election is fast approaching the Govt becomes extra caring.
They are selfish and nobody cares a damn about the common man or the voter.

Just a decrease of ₹2+ cannot be considered sensitive to our cries when it has been increased on a daily basis. There are questions awaiting answers at the end of the day. For how long will that "decrease" be maintained? Daily, in a way similar to its increase? i doubt. Let's keep fingers crossed for now.

What kind of sensitiveness shown shown by the Government...???? Increasing in 10 folds and reducing a bit. Is this sensitiveness.????? This is nothing but crookedness....!!!! If you have guts , then go back to 2014 prices or below that and show your sensitiveness. If the price increases like this your position in the next election will also bleak.
