18-year-old Muslim girl in love with Hindu boy tied to tree, thrashed in Bihar

Patna, Oct 6(India Today): An 18-year-old Muslim girl in Nawada district, Bihar was tied to a tree and caned by her family members for loving a Hindu boy. Her punishment was allegedly a result of the village panchayat's diktat.

The incident happened on Wednesday (October 3) in Jogiya Maran village falling under Rajauli police station in Nawada. She remained tied to the tree for around five hours.

When she was being thrashed, no one came to her rescue.

The 18-year-old girl, daughter of Mohammad Farid Ansari, fell in love with Rupesh Kumar who hails from a neighbouring village.

Both of them wanted to marry but the girl's family was against the union.

  

On September 30, the girl fled form her village to stay with Kumar. When the family learnt of her absence, they started looking for her.

The girl's family came to know that she was with Kumar and soon went to his place to bring her back.

Thereafter, the panchayat was convened which directed the girl's family to punish her for dishonouring the village. The girl was then tied to a tree and caned.

The police received the incident's information and reached the spot. They took the girl's statement. The alleged perpetrators were not arrested but instead were given a warning.

The police are also looking for Rupesh Kumar who is on the run.

    I don't know from where you got this information from? Dipika Kakkar is her birth name and she was not born in Muslim family. She was married to Christian(Pilot. when she was working as flight attendee) then she started dating her co star Shoaib and married him.(there was a rumor about changing her name from Dipika to Faiza)

    Okay susan i agree with you fully. Katrian's father a indian businessman from muslim community. Deepika's former husband's name is Raunak Mehta..when he become Raunak Samson..he himself knows. He his flight attendant. If pilot ..deepika never left him and seated next to him in cockpit. Maalika Arora's father is punjabi hindu and mother christian from kerala. She following christanity.

    Thanks Ahmed II to accept what done by panchayat members are wrong. Should be punished according to law. Are not living under aurangazeb rule. Let panchayay as a punishment conduct marriage of both and give in writing will not harm by any means to couple in near future.

    In delhi recent two cases..where in muslim gal fallen love with hindu boy..latter murdered by family members of girl. Really horrible. Can girl live happily here after. People now in custody. Family shattered. At last what there achievement. Honor killing.

    Panchayat's only give punishment people from poor family.
    Big boss fame Deepika Kaakar born muslim. Fallen in love with hindu boy. She converted to hinduism. Things not gone well. Taken divorce.
    Again fallen in love with muslim boy while working in serials. Once again changed religion turn towards islam. For these people mazaab become just mascara.
