Margao, Nov 4: Although the Supreme Court has banned the Bull fights, All Goa Bull Owners Association (AGBOA) on Monday 3 November, has demanded that Dhiryo (Bull fights known with this name) should be legalized.

AGBOA president Tony Fernandes while addressing the press conference in Margao said that they respect the order of the Supreme Court, for which they never arrange bull fights, but have appealed the concerned authority to legalize it.

According to Fernandes, in other states of India, like Maharashtra, Orissa, and Tamil Nadu, bull fights are allowed by imposing some rules and regulations. "So that which is legal there, why isn't legal in Goa," he questioned.

AGBOA has urged that government should place the Bill in Parliament and should pass the same.

Advocate Anaclet Viegas, AGBOA vice-president Robert and members of this association were also present.

They have also claimed that some politicians have supported them to take this issue further.

South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha was also determined to table a Private Member's Bill in Parliament to amend and legalize bullfights in the State.
