New York, Jul 27: Everton manager David Moyes has stressed the urgent need for multiple new signings ahead of the Premier League season following a disheartening 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth in their pre-season fixture at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey.

The loss during the Premier League Summer Series highlighted the club’s ongoing squad limitations. Speaking after the match, Moyes acknowledged that although Everton have already secured striker Thierno Barry, goalkeeper Mark Travers, and converted Charly Alcaraz's loan into a permanent deal, the team is still far from ready.

"We've signed three, but we're still in need of maybe five or six players," Moyes said. "I've never had to do this much in one transfer window. We're trying really hard behind the scenes to get things done, and we're going to need it."

Moyes also confirmed that Everton has submitted an offer for Bayern Munich’s young Moroccan defender Adam Aznou. “He’s a player with good potential and someone we see as part of the club’s future,” he noted.

Despite the pressing need, Moyes tempered expectations regarding immediate reinforcements before Everton’s next match against West Ham in Chicago. “I'd be very surprised [if any deals are done by then] — but you never know. We know where we need to improve, and today’s performance made that clear.”

Everton’s next steps in the transfer market will likely define their competitive prospects for the upcoming season as they look to avoid another relegation battle.
