Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Oct 7: Jeevan Bima Nagar police have arrested a thief, a kind of Robinhood, who used to donate a part of the proceeds from the stolen valuables to the church to feed and cloth the orphan children.

Vincent alias David (62), a resident of Kalasipalya in the city is the arrested person. City police commissioner T Sunilkumar said that the police have confiscated things including 525 gram of gold, which is valued at Rs 16.25 lac, TV and other valuable items.

Vincent, who is a native of Tamilnadu, had made stealing his profession. He used to search and find houses which are locked and used to break open the lock and steal gold and other valuables and sell the same in the market. Vincent used to go to Tamilnadu after the theft and used to party with his friends. Whatever remained after partying, was donated to church asking the same to be used for feeding and clothing the orphan children.

The accused was carrying on his stealing profession since many years in various areas of the city including Baiyyappanahalli and Jeevan Bima Nagar. He has been caught several times in the past and sent to prison. However, he used obtain bail, come out from the jail and continue stealing.

Vincent had stolen LED TV, laptop and golden chain from a house at Murugeshapalya on the old airport road on March 10, 2018. When the police tallied the fingerprints available at the scene of the crime with habitual offenders, they zeroed on Vincent and apprehended him. When he was interrogated, many other thefts have also come to light.

Reason behind donation to orphans

Because of the stealing habit of Vincent, his wife and children have deserted him. He does not have anyone whom he can call as his own. So he used to donate a part of his earnings from his vice thinking that it will help the orphan children. David told the police that he used to get a sort of peace of mind by donating some amount towards the well being of orphan children.

I admit what he has done is wrong instead of that he can work or do social service for orphanages that would be better and more noble but better than politician and free Pinocchio's after all everything free for them they have more punishment.Thank God because he fed the orphans from some part of his loot God hearing the prayers of the orphans has given him a chance to repent and make penance for his sins in this life only so he can go to heaven after death, I hope some person gives him a good bible to read and some counselling so like the good thief he may save his soul. Who knows maybe his time is near so God him a chance like this. I hope he makes good use of it this time. Good luck

Please do not express your empathy to the culprit just because he belongs to your religion.
He donated part of the theft to feed orphans not because of any sympathy to orphans. The fact is that in his own words, he used to get a sort of peace of mind by donating.
What about the peace of mind of people from whom he stole?

Blossom...you mean thief ..is to repent.
What about people involved in cattle trafficking who terrifying with arms person at home. Wrong after all wrong. You cannot make it correct by any substances. Even god will also not forgive him eventhough helped orphans. If so than there is no meaning in good or bad. It's same like bribing to satisfy one self.

No family now to look after, no family to look after him when he gets old.

So he was sure to end up in a orphanage hence he gave whatever left after having fun to the orphanage.

    Wise future plan.

He is actually sick and needs psychiatric assessment. Moreover jail policy need to be changed . These kind of of pity robbers need to be shown a better life by the system . Human side of them must be harnessed to betterment of the society . Like he can be trained to take care of certain things .. why not orphanage ?
