Shatrughan Sinha slams Centre on Rafale deal, urges for Oppn unity to defeat BJP

Muzaffarnagar, Oct 15(PTI): Disgruntled BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha on Sunday criticised the BJP government at the centre over the Rafale deal.

He said a French publication had quoted former French president Francois Hollande as saying that the Indian government had proposed Reliance Defence as a partner for the French aerospace major Dassault Aviation for the deal.

Speaking at a farmers' panchayat in Tawli village on Sunday evening, he said questions were being asked why an experienced company like the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) was set aside and a new company got the contract for the Rafale deal.

He appealed to all opposition leaders to unite to defeat the BJP in the 2019 general election.

Former Union minister Yashwant Sinha and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also addressed the farmers.

The Congress and the BJP have been involved in a war of words over the Rs 58,000 crore deal to purchase 36 Rafale fighter aircraft from France, with claims and counter-claims flowing thick and fast.

Next could be Shiv Sena Head, breaking his silence and coming out openly on Modiji.
India should be ruled by sincerity and not supporting ruling government even when they play blunders. Ultimately, it is a loss for the country. Leaders come and go but who will suffer in the bargain. The citizens.
Fuel prices were not controlled deliberately. It's an election strategy to gain popularity and people sympathy. Within next 2 months surely there would be drastic reduction in Petrol/Diesel prices.

    Yes Sir.
What you and other experienced leaders have felt is 100% true.
Time is ripe to save our country from dictatorship and communal party.
BJP (Mr. Modi & Team) handled the Rafale deal/Agreement as if it is Ambani/Modi family business affair. We, 132 Crore Indians have the right to know the facts and figures and fully transparency of the Rafale deal. Why BJP members are so nervous and trying hoodwink from actual facts.
Please, come out of the wrong box and build a strong united opposition. You can take the leadership and demolish what is called fooling business of Modiji. He is acting in a different way from what he was appearing 5 years back.
Our country is a secular one and cannot be just entrusted to someone on Hindutva and other sentimental aspects.
