10 from Chhattisgarh killed in road accident in Odisha


Bhubaneswar, Oct 17 (IANS): At least 10 persons from Chhattisgarh were killed after a car in which they were travelling collided head-on with a truck on NH-35 in Odisha's Nuapada district, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place near Silada in Nuapada late on Tuesday night.

The pilgrims of Pithora area of Chhattisgarh were returning from Komna in Nuapada after offering prayers at the Vaishnodebi temple, said police.

On being informed Nuapada police and fire services personnel reached the spot and recovered the bodies.

Nuapada inspector-in-charge Bibekananda Mahanta said they have informed the Chhattisgarh police about the incident and asked them to inform the family members of the deceased.
