Manvendra Singh's switchover to Congress selfish act: Rajasthan BJP leader

Jaipur, Oct 17 (IANS): BJP MLA Manvendra Singh's switchover to the opposition Congress on Wednesday ahead of the Assembly elections in Rajasthan is a "selfish act", Assembly Deputy Speaker Rao Rajendra Singh said here.

His move to join the Congress is also an insult to thousands of BJP leaders who helped him become an MLA, Rao said.

Addressing a press conference here, Rao recalled that Manvendra Singh was suspended from the BJP in 2014 when he campaigned in favour of his father and former Union Minister Jaswant Singh, who was contesting as an independent.

The BJP leader said that veteran leader Jaswant Singh was elected as a BJP lawmaker in 1980, 1986, 1998, 1999 and 2004 and that he got a chance to represent the party in the Lok Sabha in 1990, 1991, 1996 and 2009.

He said that the BJP workers and voters should be prepared to teach a lesson to such a person who flouted party discipline.

No body is Saint in politics. BJP MADE TWO CONGRESS LEGISTRATORS TO RESIGN AS A ACT OF SELFISHNESS TO RETAIN POWER IN Goa by undemocratic ways. No need of lecture from a party without ethics/morality.

Ha...Ha...Ha... Rao Rajendra Singh, what a joke? You both were eating together in one plate and using same room to sleep. Now Manvendra realized you always eat the meat piece of Chicken and leaving only bone for Manvendra. Rao Rajendra Singh, do not be so jealous, let him get some chicken meat too.

Manvendra's father Jaswant Singh held India's flag high even in foreign countries. But he was shunted by his competitors in BJP to the background and they hated him until his death. Only Vajapyee knew his worth as an External Affairs Minister. Of course, one mistake he committed was to accompany terrorists to Kandahar during the plane highjack by Pak terrorist group. But that was a slip. Now the opponents within the party hounding Manvendra also. Good that he has joined Congress.

Jaswant Singh. He is a retired officer of the Indian Army and a former cabinet minister. He is a founding member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

In a huge setback to the BJP in the poll-bound Rajasthan as Manvendra Singh joined the Congress party on Wednesday. Before officially joining the party at the Congress headquarter at 24 Akbar Road in Delhi, Singh also met Rahul Gandhi. Singh is the son of veteran BJP leader Jaswant Singh, who had served in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government as a union minister.

BJP can only buy Congress to make 'Congress mukth'. But can't win the heart of real leaders who are given their life to the party.

Rao Rajendra Singh, first of all practice before you preach. Advise the same to BJP President Amit Shah.
Why you are after the opposition party MLA to be in BJP side. Goa is a classical example. BJP today of Modi/Amit Shah party has lost all ethics unlike BJP of yesterday's of Vajapayee/Advani who always stood for values.

    That is a non-selfish act.
From the corrupt Congress party, where you have enough opportunity to make money, you come to a party which is dry...no corruption. Then it is absolutely a non-selfish act!!
