Mumbai, Nov 11: The annual day celebration of the co-ordinating committee of the Billava Association Kandivali, was held on Sunday November 9, at Pancholia High School, Dahanukarwadi, Kandivali (West), here.
Jaya C Suvarna, president, Billava Association, presided and local social worker Shailaja Girkar lit the lamp. Yermal Harish Shetty, vice-president, AHAAR, was the chief guest on the occasion. Former minister and BJP leader Vijaybai Girkar, hotelier Nagesh Kotian, Vasudev R Kotian, chief executive officer, Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited, Bank vice-president Rohini V Salian, Karnad Narayan Suvarna, and Lilavati J Suvarna, were the guests of honour.
Eminent social worker Narayan A Kotian and Girija N Kotian, commercial pilot license holder Nireeksha Nagesh Sanil, Dr Puttaraj Gavai, state award winner Veena Bhaskar Sarapady, Balraj Sahani award winner Latesh M Poojary, Vasudev Kotian and Rohini Salian, were felicitated on the occasion.
Guru Puja, Bhajan, and other religious programmes were held under the leadership of Yogesh Hejmady, Ravindra Amin, and Raghavendra. Various entertainment programmes including ‘Ideal Couple’ were also conducted.
Association honorary treasurer Bhaskar V Bangera, women’s division executive president Jayanti V Ullal, co-ordinating committee vice-president Bhaskar T Bangera, R D Poojary, honorary secretary Umesh N Suratkal, honorary treasurer Manjaya C Amin, convener Shankar D Poojary, central committee representative Premanath P Kotian, and other office-bearers were present on the dais.
Kandivali co-ordinating committee president Gangadhar G Poojary welcomed the gathering. Association honorary chief secretary Nityanand D Kotian delivered the introductory address. Central committee representative Dharmesh S Salian compered the programme and Sadanand Suvarna proposed vote of thanks.
