Panaji, Nov 14: More than 1000 students representing different schools in the Mala area in Panaji joined hands together and organised a rally protesting against the CCP's (Corporation of the City of Panaji) garbage management plan.
Before assembling in front of the CCP building in the capital city, the students lit candles in front of the Mary Immaculate church in Panaji, burnt agarbattis in front of the Jama Masjid and finally broke coconut in front of the Mahalaxmi temple in Panaji as a symbolic gesture of their protest.
The students finally made it to the Mayor's chamber and dumped garbage on his official table and chair in his absence and shouted slogans and gave a ultimatum to the government to give CCP a proper dumping place before IFFI 2008 or else face the music.
