Udupi: Teachers of Muniyal government PU college accused of molesting minor Dalit girl

Udupi, Nov 2: In a shameful incident which came to light on Friday, October 2, two male teachers of Muniyal government pre-university college have been accused of sexually molesting a Dalit female student of tenth standard of the institution.

According to sources, the incident took place on September 14. The victim’s parents had complained about it to the college principal and education officer. As they failed to take any action against the teachers, the parents registered a police complaint at Hebri police station on Friday.

In the complaint, it is alleged that teachers Manjunath and Sudheendra has molested the minor girl. A complaint under Pocso Act against principal Ramakrishna Hegde and DDPI Sheshashayana on charges of not taking action against the suspects has been registered at Hebri police station. Karkala DSP Belliappa is conducting investigation.
